Our brief in this instance was to establish an initiative that would promote the organisation's value of "Innovation" and lead to real improvement both internally and for the organisations customers. Another key requirement was that the initiative should engage the maximum number of staff in the process.
Our client conducts business across Queensland from a number of sites and offers a range of services to its customers from simple transactions to complex projects using the latest technology.
The outcome of our work has been the implementation of a program that encourages participation and collaboration using technology to facilitate the development of ideas. At the same time, cross-functional teamwork is encouraged in the exploration and implementation of real solutions.
Progress and outcomes are communicated widely across the organisation so that people get a sense of things happening in response to their contributions.
While it is early days, there are very encouraging signs of support at all levels of the business and a high level of participation in the development and implementation of ideas. As the initiative matures, a greater focus will be given to the promotion of more innovative approaches and solutions.
